Remote Area Medical—Helping Those Who Need It Most
November 14, 2013
Back in 2007, The New York Time Magazine published a short profile on Remote Area Medical. The organization, which frequently goes into developing countries to provide medical care to the poor, has increasingly been turning its focus on those in rural and suburban parts of America, where many don’t have health insurance, or the number of hospitals and primary-care doctors is lower.
Care at a Remote Area Medical event ranges from basic medical help to dermatology and even dentistry. Over the course of a weekend, a team of medical volunteers donates their time and expertise to improve lives and make a difference.
Dr. Goldstein participated in such an event earliest this year, back in February. Over a matter of three days, patients who needed important dental care were able to see a dentist with years of experience.
Why is dental care so important? Because poor oral health goes beyond your smile to affect your overall health. To enjoy good oral and overall health, make regular dental appointments a priority, and follow a good oral care routine daily.
Call Randolph Dental Care to schedule an appointment. We serve patients from Randolph, Rockaway, Mendham, Chester, Morristown, Denville, Morris County, and surrounding areas.
You can also donate your time and resources to Remote Area Medical. Visit their site to see how you can help.
