TMJ Costs and Treatment
On your first appointment you will have a comprehensive exam, Panorex and a discussion of findings with Dr. Goldstein. Often times a temporary splint is provided to you. The fee for this appointment is $429.00
On your second appointment Dr. Goldstein will re-evaluate you to see your response to the splint.
Should Dr. Goldstein determine that your case warrants a deeper investigation another appointment will be set up to obtain more records. On that visit 3D impressions and bite measurements will be taken for Dr. Goldstein to analyze your bite. In addition electronic bite recordings and a CT scan of your joints will be done. Most often you will be sent out for an MRI of your jaw joints. The fee for this appointment is $694.
Following a review of all data you will be scheduled with Dr. Goldstein for a 1 hour consultation. At that appointment Dr. Goldstein will review your condition using 3D modeling and propose a treatment plan. The fee for this visit is $395.
Most all patients with a joint problem will be recommended to wear a splint for a period of 6 to 24 months. This splint is adjusted weekly and as time progresses the frequency of visits will be extended. The fee for this is $3995 which includes all visits.
Following appliance therapy all patients are equilibrated (bite adjusted) over a series of 3 appointments. The fee for this is $1095.
Once Equilibrations are complete all patients are fitted for a night guard or a sleep apnea appliance. Fees for this range from $750-1250.
It is not uncommon for our TMJ patients to require other services such as Botox™, clear braces or restorative dentistry to correct a worn dentition. These fees can be discussed if they are warranted.
We look forward to helping you with this chronic and debilitating problem.
